1. Put together the information you will need for your lender before you pack your household goods. I can send you a list of what you will need.
2. Choose a Realtor that you are comfortable with to help you with the process.
3. Before you start your looking process have your Realtor or Lender pre-qualify you. You then have a price range to start your exploring.
4. Your Realtor can show you any home listed through our MLS (multiple listing service) no matter which office may have it listed. We have a computer data base with all the listings and information which is downloaded daily.
5. After you find "your home" an offer is written and submitted for acceptance. When your offer is accepted - you're on your way!
6. Your lender will then need the contract and you will need to complete any remaining loan application papers with your lender.
7. While the loan process is working, the lender will order the appraisal. Any inspections you have requested will need to be completed and home owners insurance needs to be put in place for closing.
8. Once the appraisal is in, your loan has been approved, the survey is done, and utilities are ready to be transferred, it is now time to sign your final papers.
9. In New Mexico we use title companies for the closing process. They will explain the lenders paperwork, provide the title insurance, show you the survey and go over your exact closing costs with you.
10. The deed will then be recorded at
the court house, and you are a New Mexico home owner!
